South Shore Brooklyn
The Rev. Harriet Wieber
Our Work
Every year, the South Shore Brooklyn conference participates in a Wednesday Lenten Soup Supper and Worship Round Robin schedule. We meet at each other’s churches for a light meal and discussion, and then we worship together. We have been doing this for quite some time.
At the conference, we have been experimenting with creating a conference youth group that meets every other month, again, at each other’s churches.
Members have participated in God’s Work, Our Hands Service Day. This year we met at Holy Trinity to work on mats for the homeless and stars of hope.
Our Annual Conference meeting took place on Sunday, February 16th at 2 PM, at Holy Trinity.
We opened with prayer and welcomed everyone.
We spoke about: Benevolence Intentions, Parochial Reports, and Rostered Leader Reports.
We created our Lenten schedule and decided we would have discussions about Bishop Egensteiner’s vision for ministry: E.L.C.A.
We then discussed our fledging conference youth group. There are joys and there are frustrations, but we decided to continue with a conference-wide basketball game to be held in the late spring.
We also shared each congregation’s upcoming events, and closed the meeting with the Lord’s Prayer.
We Are Church Together
At the South Shore Brooklyn conference, we enjoy being together in worship and in service, and encouraging and supporting one another.
