We Are Resilient TOGETHER
While we were unable to meet in person, we met via Zoom weekly, not only for text study but for mutual support. We shared both our struggles as well as insights into how we each adapted during the transition. Early in the first portion of the pandemic, Pastor O’Hanlon led a weekly evening prayer service on Zoom. In both 2020 & 2021, we recorded a service for the Commemoration of the Emanuel 9 for people to use.

We Are Hopeful TOGETHER
We are blessed to have all of our congregations currently being served by rostered leaders and one intern. It was a year of transitions with three new people called to our area during the pandemic. We rejoice in the ministries shared by interim pastors Roger Berner and Ann Tiemeyer, and wished godspeed to Jake Simpson. We welcomed Kevin O'Hara (Emanuel, Pleasantville) as well as celebrated the ordinations of Martha Cruz, Abby Ferjak (Grace, Scarsdale), and Dawn Morello.

Many of our congregations are also experiencing a decreasing number of young people of confirmation age. Therefore, next year we will be combining for a monthly gathering of our youth to look at what it means for us to be the Body of Christ and the Whole Church.

God's Work. Our Hands, TOGETHER
We pray first for God's continuing grace and guidance as we make our way out of this difficult time. We are seeking to find the ways in which we may grow in our understanding of what it means to be God's church in all circumstances. We share in conversations, reflections, and ideas about how we are being called forward into an always uncertain future.
