Who We Are
Who are we? We’re Lutherans! Lutherans make up a community of faith that shares a passion for making positive changes in the world. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ. Through worship, service, and education, we practice our faith and grow in our relationship with God.
We also work hard to put our faith into action. In today’s complex world, we try to make a difference in practical, realistic ways. Lutheran ministries reach from around the corner to across the globe. Members of the Metro New York Synod’s nearly 200 congregations are worshipping God, helping friends and neighbors, celebrating diversity, feeding the hungry, working for justice, and advocating for peace. In all we do, we strive to reflect God’s boundless love for all people.
