Cornish Scholarship Fund
In grateful appreciation of the contribution to the spiritual welfare of the people of Christ Lutheran Church and the community of Great Kills by Pastor Henry J. Cornish and Ruth Cornish, his wife, the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church of Staten Island has established the Cornish Education Fund.
The purpose of the fund is to make grants available, upon approval, to any member of this congregation who needs financing and to assist with the cost of any special programs, camping, seminars, retreats, and other events of similar nature which have as their objective the religious enrichment of the attendee(s).
- Our Mission: Mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.
- Our Vision: As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
WELCA is the women’s ministry of the ELCA. We gather at CLC throughout the year for book studies, fellowship, and other events. There is a place for you in the Women of the ELCA.
CLC’s men’s group traditionally meets annually for the Annual Men’s Breakfast, with invited speakers. Historically, the LMM group at CLC had a long tradition of assisting the Property Ministry Team.
The vision and mission of LMM is for every man to be a bold, daring follower of Jesus Christ.
By God’s grace, to intentionally disciple men by personally modeling the character of Jesus by living and leading a lifestyle intended to help transform them from having an inward focus to a culture of naturally loving and serving our neighbors.
