October 25 - 27, 2022
Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center
The Peace of Christ be with you dear one, as I invite you to our 2022 Bishop’s Retreat!
As an ordained minister in our synod, you are invited to this annual retreat. This is a wonderful opportunity for ordained leaders to be together and commune with other colleagues in our synod. After more than two years apart, I look forward to seeing you again for this special time in faith and friendship, to learn and discern with and from one another in mutual love and respect.
The theme for this retreat is “Ministry in Times Under Tension,” presented by our two keynote speakers, Rozella Haydée White and The Rev. Dr. Michael Cooper-White, who will help us to reflect on and explore our calling as leaders in ministry during these challenging times.
Since being elected as your Bishop, I’ve made it my priority to see to it that all voices, across all walks of life in God’s creation, are heard and welcome. We are here because the Holy Spirit has called us to guide the community that is our beautiful Metropolitan New York Synod in God’s kin-dom with wisdom, courage, and compassion. And while we may face challenges (what else is new?!), we will face them together, we will face them with faith, and we will face them for the sake of the world; guided by the good news of Jesus Christ that has transformed our own lives through our baptismal calling to live like Christ in our communities!
We hope to see you there!
Yours in Christ,
Bishop Egensteiner
