Dear Friends in Christ,
On behalf of the Synod Assembly Planning Team, it is my joy to welcome you to the 2025 Metropolitan New York Synod Assembly! We are grateful to be gathering in person once again at the Marriott Hotel in Melville, Long Island, for two days of fellowship, worship, and important decision-making. Our team has put together a dynamic agenda, featuring elections that include the significant election of our next Bishop, in addition to resolutions, reports, and presentations. While our schedule is full, we have also set aside time for meaningful conversations, new connections, and deepening our shared commitment to the church’s mission.
Each year presents new opportunities and challenges for our synod, and we are dedicated to ensuring that this assembly is both enriching and impactful. Over the past several months, our planning team has worked diligently to create an experience that reflects our synod’s values and priorities, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among all who attend.
Within this year's bulletin of reports, you will find insights into the diverse ministries and partnerships that shape our synod, both in Metro New York and throughout the wider church. We recognize and celebrate the faithfulness and dedication of our congregations, leaders, and partners who continue to serve our communities with passion and purpose.
This year’s theme, "Forward Together in Christ," calls us to embrace our shared journey of faith, growth, and service. Through presentations, workshops, and interactive displays, we will explore the many ways this theme is being lived out in our synod, inspiring us to move boldly into the future with Christ as our guide.
As the MNYS Director of Events and Data Management and a member of the Synod Assembly Planning Team, I am honored to be part of this gathering.
