Our very own Christopher Vergara, Chair of the Advocacy Taskforce for the Bishop's 2025 Vision Plan, received the Social Justice Award at the NYSCC's Virtual Gala for his continuing admirable work in immigrant communities.
MNYS Bishop Paul Egensteiner introduced Mr. Vergara with appreciation and gratitude for the work he continues to do for the synod.
The Gala highlighted the powerful and life-changing ministries of the New York State Council of Churches. The event highlighted our desire to embrace a spirit of ecumenism and hospitality, to live into God’s call to do justice and to love our neighbor.
