Mission Statement

Established in 2000, the Commission for Gay and Lesbian People will: 

Encourage our synod and its congregations to welcome all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, into the full life of the church; assist in outreach and education programs; support congregations interested in learning about the "Reconciling in Christ" program; and work with the synod staff and committees to be models of inclusiveness.

Resources

Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries affirms and supports LGBTQ Lutheran rostered leaders and those pursuing a call to rostered leadership, while engaging allied congregations and ministries to proclaim God’s love and seek justice for all. On their resource page, they provide written materials for congregations, call committees, candidacy committees, internship supervisors and candidates.

Parity is a faith-based LGBTQ-focused organization based in NYC, that creates open and nurturing spaces to support, empower, and proclaim a message of reconciliation. Parity is a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and also provide a guide for LBGTQ candidates and those seeking calls.
