Joseph's Storehouse

Originally situated on Elwood Road in East Northport, Joseph's Storehouse, has been serving the community for eight years before relocating to Olson Hall on the Gloria Dei campus in October 2018. The food pantry, open on Thursdays from 9 to 11 am and Saturdays from 10 to 12 pm, caters to a wide range of needs by offering produce, meat, fish, refrigerated and frozen foods, baked goods, canned goods, and more. Affiliated with Long Island Cares and Island Harvest food banks, Joseph's Storehouse provides a "client choice shopping" experience, allowing clients to select their preferred food items based on family requirements and preferences.

In 2019 alone, the pantry served over 4,000 families and 15,000 individuals. Additionally, the newly established Joseph’s Storehouse Closet, which opened in January 2023, offers visitors a weekly selection of clothes, shoes, costume jewelry, and small housewares. The demand for these items is constant, requiring regular restocking to meet the needs of those in the community. If you have gently-used adult or children's clothing or household items that you no longer require, we kindly encourage you to consider donating them to the Joseph’s Storehouse Closet. Donations are accepted at the pantry from Tuesday through Saturday mornings, ensuring that those in need can benefit from these essential resources.

Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative

From December to March, our community extends its support to assist 30 homeless men. This vital initiative is made possible through collaborative efforts with approximately two dozen congregations and synagogues in the area. Together, we partner with the Family Service League to ensure the success of this meaningful ministry, allowing us to collectively provide essential support and care to those in need within our community.

Feed the Hungry

For over two decades, the St. Peter's Feed the Hungry Program has been dedicated to serving the Huntington community. Through the concerted efforts of dedicated teams, healthy foods are carefully selected, purchased, and delivered to the Helping Hands Rescue Mission. This impactful program plays a crucial role in supporting needy families and children within our community, ensuring that essential nutritional needs are met and fostering a sense of care and compassion for those facing food insecurity.
